DDK'rs always have a black or white opinion, rarely Grey!

Way back I did what I wanted with my 73T inc a DIY lhd to rhd conversion and 3 different engines.
Then nobody cared, now it is a near lynch mob for such an action as I found out on here a year ago.

Times change. :)

If you want to have fun driving it and are doing the MFI work anyway, go 2.7 RS spec. Great combination of torque and top end rush and very usable on the road. You can probably get most of the way there on 2.4 but I think it is the character you want. My favourite road friendly engine.

I don't think 2.8 B&P cost any more either .....
The force is strong in this one ......

Agree , great engine, but stretching the original suggestion of just adding barrels and pistons to a 2.4t with e cams ... a proper 2.7rs spec mfi motor isn't cheap

I think I'm gravitating to the E space cam in the MFI, E cams and 2.2S pistons.

From what I've learnt this will still be a great engine, it will be easier to dial in and give me the low to mid revs torque i was after.

Sounds snappy to me too.
Minimum fuss but still with an edge

Hi All,
Can I tap into your collective views on shocks/dampers please.

Need to order up a set to get the shell rolling again. As a reminder I'm after a sharp handling fast road car, the 2.4T is getting warmed over to almost E spec.

So, is it a straight choice of Koni vs. Bilstein ? Sport versions? I'm guessing club sport versions are too stiff for the road?

Once again, your experience and opinions would be valued.

Design911 have a package of Bilstein sports that looks attractive.

Thanks,
Mark

iirc Gary71 fitted a set and loves them, and he really blasts his T over all manner of roads in the UK and Europe.
Certainly they would be my choice if I needed to change my custom damped Bilsteins.

Hi All,
I need to assemble the bits for fit an external oil cooler. Look like the way to go is to retrofit the carrera parts. I've posted a wanted on here as a first step and there is a pelican guide. But if anyone can offer any advice. I thinking particularly about getting any bracket welded on now before body work advances. Will the carrera cooler fit with my dual battery boxes?
Thank you

Hi

I fitted the RS loop cooler on my car. (Two battery boxes) Three small clips to weld on the sill and a stud on the inner wing.

Thermostat in front of the rear wheel requires no bracket work and some modified wheel well oil pipes.

Works a treat.

Thanks John, i'd assumed I'd have to go for the carrera type cooler as I had not seen reference to the loop cooler as an after market kit or used.

I can take some pictures when I get home, which will be in a weeks time if that would be helpful.

Kind Regards
