This week I have been busy making my own carpet kit for the car. I had a go at making the removable sound deadening/carpet pieces but, well here is the vid that will show you how it all went.

After a bit of time away from the 911, this week I got stuck back in and made some door trims. You can now see my colour selection for the interior.

This week I continued trimming the rear panels in the car. I needed to make a recesses in the side panels to clear the roll cage. This trimming is very time consuming but I am really enjoying it.

Sorry for the late video. Everything worked against me this week, and I got a lot less done than I hoped. I at least got a start on trimming the seats, so hopefully next week I will be able to finish it off.

Jeff,

How long does it take you to put the videos together, just curious.

Cheers

I usually film 2 days of work. I have gotten the editing down to about 3 hours now. The editing is really the more difficult bit, to keep it entertaining, and not get too bogged down in detail. I edit with Final Cut Pro X and I spent a lot of time learning the program and the short cuts. Now I have made over 50 videos it is finally getting a bit easier ;)

Is it a GoPro you are filming with or something more sophisticated. I'd love to do some videos in my workshop but there aren't enough hours in the day as it is!

I started the first few videos with the gopro, and I still use it if I am doing anything messy where I don't want to damage my good cameras. Since then I have upgraded few times. I now have lighting, and better microphones. I am on my third camera now which is a Canon 70D with a Rode Microphone. One thing that Casey Neistat says which always rings true though. It doesn't matter how good your gear is, it is all about the story. People will watch the grainiest, scratchiest thing if it is entertaining.

This week I have been tweaking and refining the leather to fit the seat properly and I have finally gotten the outcome I was after.

This week I have done lots of little things in the interior that needed to be done. I have now managed to get the roll cage back in and it is really coming together.

This week I have been tidying up the door trims and making my own version of RS door pulls. The biggest challenge was the smallest bits. Making the trim bezels for around the pulls.

Always impressive how you unhesitatingly turn your hand to any aspect of this car.

Thanks Hillclimber.

This week I start to re-trim the second seat and then get stuck into the custom dash pieces. All of these little things really seem to take up a lot of time.
