A while back i bought an extended under tray as part of a group buy on Impact Bumpers, I wasn't really sure when I would use it but it seemed like a good idea at the time!
So now was the time to do something with it,
Problem was its designed for a standard floorpan and I have cut mine to use the front mount oil cooler so it didn't really fit that well.
Nothing that an angle grinder, sheet metal bender and tig welder couldn't sort out though.
The air should flow through the oil cooler and under the floor now with about as little resistance as possible.
Not sure at this stage how it will effect ground clearance but time will tell.

Yes does look good when you get to the stage where its all one colour. Lots to do topside before its ready for paint though.
Still trying to decide on wheel and tyre options.....

And as if I didn't have enough to do I thought I'd strip down the callipers for rebuild.

Great work John, never seen one of those trays looks like a well thought out piece of protection. Might have a think about making one in say 6mm alloy just too give the tank some protection. Did you decide on the finish for the calipers ?

Cheers chaps, Its been slow progress to date but I'm determined to pick up the pace this year.
Andy, the under tray is aluminium about 3mm I'd say which seems plenty strong enough. I'm going to get the callipers anodised black.
Cheers
Jon

Should they be hard anodised or standard?

Got some of the upper shell into primer, I do like this stage when it all starts to become one colour.
Also experimented with some colour on an old bonnet
And couldn't resist adding one of Mike's restored badges

With the work to the shell progressing nicely I started picking up a few mechanical items.
Starting with this lot, equal length headers with heat, a TiAL relief valve and a hybrid turbo.
