Also, funny thing. The other night my phone started beeping.

Someone at Porsche Classic apparently liked a pic of my car, it ended up on their facebook feed, the pic was taken by a friend of mine.

Feeling quite humble about it.

Forgot to remove the pins for the hinges, before the painter hit it. Well well, they needed refinishing anyway.

Some more progress. I dismantled all the engine sheet metal and started washing em, the PO seems to have powder coated the sheet metal, cleans up nicely. I have already been over the gearbox with toothbrush, it is just dusty from hanging around in the garage.

Also drove by the painters today, some nice progress in the prepwork! The car might be in Golfblue by the end of the weekend!

The body is still with the painter, it´s being block sanded and almost ready for top coat!

The other day I recieved this service times manual for 911/912 cars dated 1967. If I´ve got it correct it was used by the Porsche to maintain same pricing(hours) for most service operations.

(Time in parts of an hour to the right)

Image

A glance of it´s content

Washed all the engine sheet metal + fan hosuing, turned out nicely. The PO had powder coated everything, kinda hard to improve but It´s still "ok" the car is not for show so..

Image

Also started washing the engine, will take a few more hours and some dismantlig to get it right but It will get there!

Toothbrush and diesel next!

Great pics, also that is a cool manual, I would be interested in seeing some more pages if possible.

Thanks

Finally in 6603, Golfblue! (PPG)

The color is very hard to catch on camera, it is a bit lighter blue in light whilst lot´s darker in shadow.

I am extremely satisfied with the outcome, this has got to be one of the best days of my 29 years in life so far!

Thank you! First car restored and first car resprayed, what a feeling!

Here´s an additional pic in heavier lighting, there is some sanding dust on the surface which is from storage after paint has cured once I wipe that off it I assume they have an even nicer shine. When I came by to have a look the painter wasn´t 100% satisfied with the paint on the chassis so he sanded it down corrected some minor dust issues. Will post more pic´s as soon as the car is in my garage on Tuesday if all goes according to plan..

I have seen a couple of cars in that early darker version of Gulf Blue and it is a lovely colour :- )

Superb work Jesse, I am really encoraged with what you have done. Especially it is good to see the Golf Blue on the car. Mine was the same but here are only very small ares left under the das which show the colour.
Can't wait to se the body.

Ian
