I fell prey on the way back from Le Mans last year.
I was average speeded at 163kph based on the toll booth to toll booth timing method.
I didnt believe it was accurate (what, a little old E

), but didn't argue as I believe I got lucky with just a 75 euro fine.
Although I think politeness and fluent French helped, as les flics ddin't look like they were being so charitable with the ranting brit pulled in his 997 turbo next to us.

I know of a small group of three cars all pulled over coming back from the 24hrs this year, each taken off to a cashpoint to pay a €750 fine

And according to the French tourist board when I spoke to them, the maximum fine for non production of your driving licence is 1000 euros!
I get the feeling the gendarmes just use the 24 as a tax on the brits, and are not so interested in the classic - but as the numbers increase things may change?

Right in that case I better add a beret, stripey top, string of onions, waxed tache to the kit bag then.
You never know it may help

at last , we've been recognised as a Porsche club

For those of you who have tracklaps / infield parking booked, the organisers have included DDK as one of the official clubs
See section 72 on the list on the right

As a virgin to the track laps / infield parking - anyone know if the "Pitches" marked? do you get in via the tunnel that comes out at the back of the pits?

pitches were never marked in the past. You were directed to park with the same year of cars depending on the sticker you had. Have you been sent a track lap sticker too ?
AFAIK , entrance to the bugatti is via the new entrance at the back of the circuit

I have the PCF track laps but no infield parking as it was full when I booked. Is it possible to get onto the track other than via infield car park or do I only have half the required deal?

I would assume that without an infield pass you will need to keep your car at the campsite Doug.
I think I would rather have my car next to my tent!

I've not been involved with the tracklaps this year, so can' say for sure , but you will need to be at the bugatti circuit well in advance of your tracklap slot ..... & the traffic in & around the backroads can be a nightmare.
All tracklaps enter the circuit via the bugatti area ( this is where the parking is located) On the map below, you'll que up on the bends on the bugatti circuit that lead out onto the main track
this is where Porsche have historically always been parked ( to the left of the bugatti track , above the bends)
