That's a properly lovely car. Fair play to you. What a result...that sc needs a bit of an 'up' at the back end. Still, not quite as bad as silver screws in the horn grilles or anything.

Thanks guys, very kind words. I literally picked it up, drove straight to Redline at 5pm (who were locking up) and left it again. Am away this weekend and just hope it's ready when I'm back next week!!
Really looking forward to the first drive. Not sure what to expect as was seriously 'wallaway' when I drove it last to CLM (not knowing the extent of rot).
Spa looking a reality in it now, fingers crossed
As I got new pistons and barrels what's the consensus of 'running in'. Is it 500 or 1000 miles and what about maximum revs at different stages?

You'll get as many running in options as people on here
Go gently, but varied load, for 500, change the oil/filter, then gradually build it up from there.
This is roughly what I did before going to Spa last year after the first oil change. On the way back I considered it run in and drove accordingly!

I'm scared to pass any comment on this thread now, but I would add to Gary's post to consider a head nut check and possible tappet adjustment in the running in period.
After I rebuilt my 3.2 race engine I ran it for a few races, changed the oil and did the head/tappet check and found nothing had moved, but after a very big re-build it was assuring nevertheless.
I since then thrash it on every outing and all is well after 4 years.
On my new road cars I simply keep the load light on the engine, vary the rpm and max to 3.5K for the first 500 miles, and 'stretch' it further for the next 500 to 5.5 on occasion, then follow the service schedule. Last 6 cars have not used oil between services.
Perhaps ask Redtek or Mike Bainbridge for their advice?
