Finished replacing the cv joints and changed the gearbox oil. Can I just say that I hate cv grease and hex head bolts on drive shafts.
Suggestion to all. If you need to replace your cv joints, pay someone else to do it!
Off out to see if I have fixed the knock on acceleration and deceleration in a mo. After a Shower and change of clothes.
Did I mention that I hate cv joint grease?

Rolling Road time bit scary to hear it pushed. Jets had 115 written on then but the first one Ben, BH Performance, checked was actually 125!

How did it go Neil, were you in for a tune or just a power run ? Were adjustments or recommendations made ?
I remember the first time I took my car down to Bob Watson and the way it sounded at maximum revs in a confined space.

Interesting. I had too much adv. I was aiming for 34 but had more. He backed to 31 for the first run than added 2 for the next.
He checked the main jets which said 115 but we're between 120/125 so he swapped to new 120. Looked good to 4k but ran lean above so he swapped down to 180 from 200. He wasn't happy to run beyond 4900 but peak torque was 99.6 at 3800
It helped that I had spend time balanced everything before. However, having a very clever machine which measures everything helps.

I taxed the Boxster and drove it for the first time this year.
Went to collect my favourite Indian takeaway. The remap is spot on, and the food fitted just right in the passenger seat....

I bought some engine mount and washers for the 73, which I painted back on Saturday. Today I was going to fit them, however I can’t undo the middle bolt, even tried an impact wrench and then a long pole on the end the ratchet, still won’t budge. Any ideas how to work it loose?
Thanks
