Here's a pic of my slow project 73.5 911T:

When I bought her -

After stripping off the big bumpers, polished fuchs, whale tail, one-piece momo buckets, big rockers, etc. and on the way to the metal shop to get a new front pan.

And here's a car I am picking up from my Uncle in October. I am hoping to drive it back, cross country and make a bit of a trip out of it.

Hi Greggearhead,

I know you will be very proud of your 911 but I hope you have kept all of the original parts as you possibly have a very rare car manufactured in 1972.

1972 was the only year they had the side oil filler and returning it to original spec would be a mission for me at least.

Good luck,
Paul

Hey Paul,

I completely understand your perspective, and am of the same mind. However, my uncle built the car himself, to perform and without the constraint of originality, so I will likely enjoy it as it is, making only minor period adjustments to be a bit more 'IROC/RSR' look. If I get the itch, I might return it to a longhood and use ST flares and see if the intercooler will fit under a standard decklid or ducktail, but part of the appeal, is that it isn't original, and isn't perfect, but it very well developed. That's part of the reason I've been dragging my feet on my 73.5T - when done, I will be very hesitant to take it just anywhere and leave it, etc. It's not even a SWB 'S' or anything! We'll see. Need to finish it first!

Hi Greg,

Good for you! So long as you are aware of what you have. I'm a big fan of hot-rods, I have one myself.

Good luck,
Paul

A young local photographer took a few pics of the 911 the other day, with which I am quite pleased:

To give him credit, his name is Daniel Honour. Nice lad and likes cars to.
