More trouble with my 718. I thought I’d escaped when I sold a potential IMS or bore failure, but now I’ve lost power, which might be a VW Turbo wastegate issue. It has been trailered away and replaced with a C Class Merc and what a gem it is. Surprisingly fast for 1500cc, beautifully equipped, comfortable, silent, excellent ride, steering and handling etc and useful over Xmas for the extra seats. I had no trouble at all with my Mercs.

Irritating!
Been out in the Boxster today to a bit of sun and a few steam engines locally.
Have tried to keep the miles of it since hitting 60K, so try to give it a run every 10 days or so which is when the battery level starts to get critical....
Started (slowly) and ran perfectly, no smoke since the DIY change of the AOS.
Notice that the car wets-up heavily since standing all on the inside. Don't remember this in previous years. Carpets dry, drains clear so hope things are ok.
Engine certainly sounds good.

I bought a magnetic hoof cover for mine. It wasn’t terribly expensive and it fitted well. eBay I think.

Got a 'hoof' cover on the car, bought it when I got the car, but still have this extreme of wetting inside..

After searching for sometime managed to find a hardtop for the Boxster in the right blue. With help from Russ it arrived this morning from its trip from Bolton
There’s a fitting kit sitting at the post office thanks to another DDK’er so once I can get the roof dried off it can be put on the the foreseeable future!

I will be v interested to see if the car is easier to use with it on.
The soft top I find to be hard to see out of clearly when reversing etc or getting out of some junctions.
The hard top has a much wider rear window.

Having recovered from the embarrassment of typing hoof instead of roof, I’ve been back to Porsche Swindon today to collect my 718, which has had its wastegate freed off. It’s nice and fast again.
We had a look round the Supercar/classic section, saw huge numbers of enormous Ferrari’s, an absolutely colossal BENTLEY and a couple of very pretty Alfa Romeo Competitzione 8Cs, one cabriolet and a Coupe. They looked tiny next to the current crop.
Conclusion was that the 718s look pretty small amongst even the current 911s, never mind Ferrari’s etc and that a low mileage 930 at £178,000 looked tiny. Cars are much too big these days without everyone buying SUVs.
We were lucky that our route to Swindon was relatively traffic free and the weather good enough for roof open motoring, so a pleasant afternoon and a good cup of coffee.

Managed ( hopefully) to sort out my knocking front suspension by stripping cleaning and re greasing my elephant polybronze front a-arm bush . Quick run around the block to check and get some heat into the car . Great to be back out in it again and I forget how well it pulls when on cam

. Time to give it a bit of love as I’m planning on talking it to CLM again this year
