A week on the road, Dunkirk, Oosterbeek, Arnhem & Caen area, Merville, Benouville etc
Dropped in to OPC near Arnhem who have a fantastic 'classic' showroom for a diagnosis for a discharging battery. Within 5 minutes it was being looked at and it turned out to be the trunk light not sat properly and the connector shorting on the bonnet.
Service was fantastic, had a tour of their set up and they only charged me an hour's labour, happy days

Yesterday I set off for Snowshill Manor with a friend, it’s a pleasant journey through incredible Gloucestershire countryside on almost empty road. We had the most disgusting cup of tea I’ve had since I started working in a factory in ‘63, saw Charles Wade’s bewildering collection and drove back past Rendcomb airfield where someone was wing walking on a Stearman.
The highlight of the day was catching up four Dutch registered Ferrari’s and an Aston, all making lots of noise and using bursts of acceleration and near emergency stops as they travelled through relatively fast country lanes at no greater speed than the average Yaris driver.
I wasn’t trying to catch anything, I was in my 356C with a lady passenger enjoying my day out, but still I’m guessing we were about 5-10mph faster.
It’s irritating enough when dawdlers hold you up in ordinary family cars, but presumably this lot were all capable of 200 ish.
Tonight I’m heading for Portsmouth and then off across France in the 356’s longest trip since it’s rebuild.

I managed to refit my refurbed alternator and the good news is the charging is working fine again. The big paint chip in the wing has now been etch primed. I dropped my triumph wing on it

Drove 2,642 miles, used 653.5 litres of fuel, screamed around 20+ Alpine Passes and had a lot of banter with very good friends.....early Porsche life is pretty good
