the last 24 hours has seen me in Buckinghamshire at Neil's working on the engine, Wembley North West London looking at arch profiles,
car arch not the stadium arch, Epping Forest/Chingford talking injection pump fuel flow rates, Surbition South East London talking parts
with Viv and Peter and today Gt Wakering in deepest darkest Essex poring over old photo's with Bruce and Jamie working out the final
wing shapes, just about to hit the phones now to Florida for dizzy electric's, and California for space cam info,
so progress, no not really.......
cheers, Mike.

Good progress now after some remedial work on door gaps, sills and rain gutters, the exciting stuff starts with a great example of
the panel beaters art. Here's Jamie after hours of action with the hammer and dolly and he's transformed the turbo arch shape to
something more like the prototype RSR.

That turbo shoulder to the arch has completely disappeared and he's put a more defined edge to where the arch would have joined
the wing, the idea being to give it a roughly thrown on at the last minute factory kind of look, but a little prettier and a bit more
sightly then they did back in the day!

Image

It was a tough decision on whether to go with the 'normal' RSR rear shape with it's smoothed in beauty, or stay faithful to the idea
of recreating the prototype and go with the 'unique' shall we say shape of the factory extensions. Jamie's just going to tweek the
top/middle area of the arch, where the green felt tip mark is to flatten it a tad and then when we're happy with that he can start
on the off-side.

To really see the difference here are both sides as they are now.

cheers, Mike.

Very nice: I would imagine the inner 'join' beating would be rather tricky to say the least.

Top stuff.

Car's off the jig and back down on it's wheels now for the final shaping, really happy now with the way the arch has that kind of
added on look to show the prototype version before it went onto the flared in look of the 73 car.

Image

From behind as Jamie works on the bumper to arch shape, you can see the way there is a defined 'edge' to the arch at the top as it
joins the wing, this disappeared on the production cars as the arch and wing became one.

cheers, Mike.
