Mine worked out a treat, oddly there was a factory hole waiting for the pvc tube to pass through to the engine bay at each corner.

Didn’t achieve much tonight.
Drilled a hole through a very localised rust spot.
Welded it up
Ground it off
Hit it with a hammer for a while
Decided that a bit of filler never hurt anyone

Stared at the other messy bit in the corner to the engine lid and failed to come up with a plan

Ball pien head hammer and some wood with concave cavity or hole and tap into a spoon form?
Tricky corner for sure, but you will suss it!

Those annoying little rust holes in the middle of panels are a right pain, as they can end up warping a bigger area that was ok.

I’ve started on a panel for the right hand side, but after three aborted attempts I’m having a rethink!

Meanwhile my young apprentice made the inner screen corner for the other side so we focused on getting that done today.

Really pleased with the piece he made, I cut it into the car and welded it, but he did all the folding, shrinking stretching and bending.

I have three boys, one at Glasgow University doing Mech Eng and I can't see any of them doing that. Come to think of it I would struggle as well

You are doing a fantastic job Gary, rebuilding your car and building the enthusiasm of the next generation.

After about four aborted attempts at a repair section I finally welded something in today!

This was not a fun piece and took at least as long to clean up as weld in!

Looks like hard graft to me.
Is the other side as bad?

I really really really had it easy on my shell!

Luckily the other side looks fine!
