Thanks fellas.

The lenses were supplied by alan drayson, they are repros but the colour of the cluster has a big effect on the lense. In my opinion if the indicator area is painted white it makes the lense pop.

HTH.

I've not caught up with your rebuild for a while, John. The attention to detail that you are applying is fantastic: the handbrake assembly alone is a project in it's own right.

All best wishes for now :) .

Things have started to come together over the last few days, Alan Drason of Canford Classics has fitted RS strengtheners to my rear arms and powder coated them, some front suspension parts have come back from the powder coaters so their has been a hive of activity in my man cave.

I have fitted some spacers to the steering rack and fitted it to the cross member. the whole front suspension went on no problem I have refitted my elephant racing bushes.

Fitted all the rear suspension.

Got it off its dolly and onto its own wheels.

Had a go at fitting the front screen, the trim was a pain to fit, luckily I had Mike Bainbridge helping.

Pulled a dusty looking engine out

And after all that it was bed time.

Back on its own wheels! That's quite a step, homeward stretch now. It really is looking superb - this is going to be one lovely car!

I still keep thinking of the difference between how it is now and the scary torsion tube area pictures when it looked like the whole thing might be dissolving!

It's quite a journey isn't it....

It'll soon be finished at this rate John - looks great !

Out of interest, what made you opt for the RS-style re-inforced trailing arm modification ? Planning an engine upgrade at some point in the future ?

Yes quite a journey, amazing when you look back at the old photos how much its come on. As far as the RS re-inforced trailing arms, Mike said its was worth while doing and you never know their may be a hot engine on the wish list.

Back off to the garage for me.
Kind regards

A once dusty engine now looks a little better.

Adjusted the tappets and replaced the sump cover gaskets. Not the most enjoyable of jobs but much better to adjust the tappets when the engine is out of the car.
