One thing I never knew when I started all this was that a Frazer Nash /BMW specialist was right on my doorstep. Simon Blakeney-Edwards workshop Edsmotorsport, is just a few miles away, and right now ASC131 is there having a few small adjustments.

I didn’t realise when I bought it that it had done less than 200 miles since the completion of its restoration - so t just needs a good shakedown and test. It drives beautifully up and down my driveway - but you know us - we drive our cars and it won’t be a garage queen so I want to know it’s all up together.

Simon is chairman of the VSCC and of course we’re joining up (alongside the BMW Historic Motor Club and the Frazer Nash club) so god knows how we’ll have any Porsche time left. The 911T had to go to
pay the FN but there’s still a Gen 1 GT3 and 76 911S to exercise! Not to mention The Great Big DDK meet - which we’re really looking forward to!!

There’s still a few loose ends to tie together. I’m trying to find out more about the previous owners - especially Charles Bulmer, Editor of The Motor. He must have written about it somewhere….

Love stories like this that go to show a car is so much more than just a method of transport …

It looks as though you'll have to go to VSCC Wiscombe Park on 12th May then Jeremy!
It's a great event in a beautiful setting - sorry I can't make it this year.

Truly wonderful story. I hope you have years of enjoyment and make new and everlasting memories with a new generation of your family.
Would love to see you and your car at Bo’ness one year.

All the best

Thanks Mike - it’s been fabulous watching all the family’s interest and enjoyment - not just mine, but also my cousin Tony and all his grown up sons and daughters too (who are already petrolheads with small collections of fast BMW’s Minis etc..) We hope to all meet up sometime soon, somewhere where they can all have a go driving. It’s the sort of car that puts a smile on your face!

I’m hoping to bring it up to Bo’ness for their anniversary Revival in late August - I’ll let you know if that materialises.

All the best
Jeremy
