Resurrecting this thread as I own 911K number 2 and have been driving it in all weathers regularly for about a year now. My last closest aircooled cars have been a 2.7RS (for delicate feel), a 993 GT2 (for power) and a 993 RS Clubsport (just lovely to flow down your favourite roads).

The 911K is however like nothing else I have driven. It is an extreme sensory overload. Guess what, you can drive it to 11,000 time and time again. The sound it makes on the way makes me scream and laugh every time. But it has so much mid range that actually most of the time you drive 4-9,000 and the car is ballistic. Way faster than the GT2 that’s for sure. People talk about the engine but the car weighs 850kg with fuel and Richard has done an amazing job with the chassis. More needs to be said about the way it drives.

Anyway, it is a brilliant monster of a car and I will happily answer questions of course if you have any.

I was at Tuthills on a visit when they were building Philips the gold one. The detail was astonishing, literally everything was gone through and made to make it lighter. TBH I am not sure how much of the original car is left other than the tub

I’m not very good at this but managed to compress a couple of photos and upload them.

The eagle eyed will see the drive by wire throttle bodies which add to the aural drama big time.

Most of the bodywork is carbon, except for the original steel floor and the basic frame. The doors are fully carbon not just the skin and there are kevlar side impact bars. Things like the gearbox carrier also carbon. Virtually all the bolts and fasteners are custom titanium. Even the heater box is carbon. Brakes are carbon ceramic, wheels are carbon barrels. Rear screen and side windows are lightweight.
Suspension is still torsion bar based, with custom MCS dampers with remote reservoirs. The way it deals with broken and rutted or cambered roads - epic.
Gearbox is mag cased 915 with an extension and a 6th gear added. A lot of work done on the shift quality- you absolutely know you are slotting into the right gear.
It has a heater and you can opt for aircon though mine doesn’t have that. Screen is heated so we don’t need the venting.
Mercedes F1 painted the body (amethyst) and also made the titanium 3d printed 911K boot lid badge.
