I’ve never made a table
Have driven a 996
Do have a Boxster all be it an old one
Have about 40 watches, many failed relationships and maintenance payments which make most wince

I've never made a table, I do however have a distant memory of a friend who managed to make a stool in the middle of a field at santa pod.

I made an elaborate chair for the School chapel many years ago and under strict supervision. Someone spotted the other day and reminded me.

Would this be a good time to suggest we add a woodwork section to the Forum ?

I made a plant dibber when I was about 12- nothing since!!!

Loads more sawdust generated this afternoon after the bike engine played-up.
Being aggressive with this huge rip-saw I have (new) sure makes a big pile of the stuff.

This is the Arts n Crafts garden bench, going to be mega.

Who needs a gym when you can cut old scaffold planks like this?
I'll naff you all off and turn chippies to tears with a picture when done.

Well if we are going to have a craft section I might just do a build thread on the drink's cabinet I am building for my wife. It may be a slow burn though, I bought all the parts 2 years ago, and have only put about a week of evenings into it since....

My 2 woodwork projects are really moving forward today, made masses of sawdust and developed huge skills with my new rip-saw (think that is the right term).
Feel I have been to the gym. Have cut 7m in length of the 40mm thick planks. Just another 3.5 meters of sawing to go.

The rustic (deliberate look) garden bench is really coming along having made a long sash clamp, and my faithful 30 year old angle grinder with a sanding disc has formed some great curves in the old scaffold planks.
PVA gluing the lot at the moment.

Will be done by end of next week so you will have to be patient for pictures.

Tons of dust in my eyes today, bloody sore! Garage is covered, total mess.

By the way, what wood are scaffold planks made from? And, what is the best coating to use to protect the finish item?

Chesnutt plank awaited to finish the hall side table with oak legs all done.

Easy to start a 'Craft Project, non car' section, just start a thread in Member's Others. Thomas foresaw this coming years ago.

All in all, more rewarding that getting a French 2 stroke to work.

Why Members section ?
We have threads on watches and cycling which are simply marked as 'off topic' and
as far as I know are not restricted to Members only
Just start a new thread under 'Genera Chat' marked 'Off topic' for woodworkers on here ?

Sounds good to me too!
Members Other keeps odd threads in the background, ie a thread on Boxsters!
