Hi Thomas,
My wife certainly believes this is obsessive behaviour and who am I are to argue - now if the 356 and the GT3 bracket the rest, simple genetics would say I'm still missing two cars....oh bugger

These are what landed with the car and I assumed that they were the OEM set simply painted black - does this mean I need to start hunting for an original MK1 set on ebay?
Presumably the other yellow MK1 still wears its original wheels?
Yeah - the yellow car has the originals. They're 2 piece with a painted centre and lacquered rim. They're fairly findable as they were optional on other models including the Boxster and everyone crashes those. The rim has a habit of corroding but I don't suppose that's an issue for you.
I really like the black ones but it might be worth keeping an eye out for a set for when you come to sell. As the car becomes more classic originality will be important.

And that would be my colour of choice too, lovely. Looks like a great car Martin, enjoy! But you're gonna have to take it off that island now & then .
Nigel,
Initially I didn't like the Zanzibar, but it's really grown on me and seems to change from red to orange and back again depending on the lighting conditions.
Yes, I do believe an excursion in the general direction of Sepang will be on the cards
Zanzibar is an iconic colour for these cars, is your GT3 a M003 Clubsport?
With regards the original wheels, yes the Speed Yellow GT3 in this thread does appear to be on original wheels. If you are considering purchasing a set second hand make sure you get the correct widths and offsets. Fronts should be 8" and rears 10". Whilst this design of wheel was available on the Boxster they are 7.5 and 9 inch. As mentioned earlier the original wheels were supplied with Silver centres and diamond cut outer rims with clear lacquer.
