Awesome trip, one to treasure Nigel.

The cake looks great, but I am guessing whereas you digested it in a matter of hours, those special Weltmeister style window stickers will live a VERY long time as badges of honour on the cars that attended. Jealous? Yeah!

And finally, Day 3 started bright & sunny and with a simple set of instructions to a mystery location :?

Super pictures Nigel, looks like a very nice couple of days you had there. Your car is looking fabulous as always!
Mitch wrote:My car has always had this badge rather than a decal but I've never got to the bottom of why.... I've heard different reasons, fitted to the non-ducktail cars etc.
I always thought the badge was originally fitted to cars without the "Carrera" sidewinders graphics and the ducktail sticker was part of the graphics option. I could be talking rubbish but that was what I had been led to believe.

Feroz

Hehe.. I think that somebody somewhere is probably still working their way through that cake

One thing's for sure James, your Viper Green would have fit right in with that group 8)

Thanks Feroz, I heard that too and it could easily be true. In passing I asked Jurgen Barth (who was the celebrity guest) but he couldn't remember, probably way too trivial! I should've stuck to asking about Le Mans!

The mystery location turned out to be a decommissioned Airbase which until recently was home to 40 Mirage Jets 8)

That RSR again..

We were lead around the perimeter track and then on to the main runway... all 2.5 kms of it. And encouraged to drive as fast as we liked but remembering that getting too close to the cars in front might lead to a front end blow-over.

I was somewhere in the middle but I can tell you that the sight & sound of 50 RS/R blasting down the runway will live with me for a very long time.

For the final farewells we headed back to the hangar for the very last precision parking test

LOL I've actually been SERIOUSLY thinking about it....even having one on a ramp so I can see two at the same time. It bugs me that I sit here for hours on end and never see them and they are just 2ft away from me

Anyway sorry for going O/T

Even seeing all those fantastic cars Nigel and my penchant for a widebody I still think yours is the best looking of them all - pure class, love it. :drunken:

Cheers Steve, imagine standing in that tower back in the day watching & hearing cars race to the finish.

But think I might go back with a bit of glass & my putty knife

Very kind - thanks. It's a standout colour for sure.

Re the glazing, maybe you don't need a full glass wall? It might work with carefully considered glass panels giving glimpses of Tangerine RSR while at your desk or the full view when up close? Just a thought, might be more cost effective. One downside for me would be that I'd get even less work done

You'd have enjoyed it Mike and it needed more Tangerine among the White 8)
