Another great update Ralph !
I can't remember what your planned finish is for the wheel spokes - raw? satin black ? matt black ? something else ?

I was going to clean up the spokes and leave them raw - maybe lightly sprayed with Gibbs?

Good idea - a bit of toothpaste will really set them off nicely

Love it Ralph !! Going to be a stunning car, keep at it.....
Really like the Torq Thrusts, I have a pic somewhere of a black 356 Speedster with an additional hardtop and raw finished wheels.....very cool choice

I may get better results with this, it's meant to preserve the look of bare aluminium.

One of the wheels that I have still has the original ‘American Racing Equipment’ tyre mounting instructions sticker on the inside of the rim even though there is no name casting. This wheel has been discussed on both Pelican and Early S with my photo used and credit given elsewhere!
Just so you know I have 20 of these wheels and have provided a picture of the AR sticker also..
on 911S registry....

How have I not seen this thread before - how slow am I?
Car looks fantastic - great details, daring paintjob, but it works really well. Like the hand pinstriping too. How do they keep it so straight?

That's great - I have never seen another with an ARE mounting sticker despite searching. Perhaps you could share a picture of one of your wheels?

Neil Melliard does nice work - take a look here:

Hopefully I will have an update soon with a little more of his work.

Now I know that this could be considered a bit of a lame update as not a great deal has progressed since June but I thought that I would share a picture that I received today and have been pleasuring myself over!
It’s my R type rear lamps finished in
Engine Turned White Gold Leaf – I appreciate that these will be a bit of a marmite thing but I like them and think it will look good with the painted over riders. The gold leaf is applied the traditional way with size, turned and then hand varnished.
The front suspension and brakes are now finished off too but I have not got round to taking pictures – I’ll update soon.
