Hoping to go there in my new mount - a 993 carrera 4.

Does this qualify for classic status yet - I know it lacks the charm of those chromed up beauties, but let us not forget the lines were penned by an englishman, which has to sway the balance !!

re toileting - a plastic bag and a cardboard box always does the trick !!

Just a note to advise that Brittany Ferries have now listed their Summer 2012 sailings.
So, you can book your channel crossings for Classic Le Mans.
No real panic yet but it might be wise to book early if you want to ensure you secure a cabin.
No doubt there are many routes and timings that may suit you but - as a useful insight for any others planning to join the DDK troop - I've picked the schedules below as being best for our needs. I've already booked. See you there. :)

http://www.brittany-ferries.co.uk/

Porstmouth–Caen. Wednesday 4th July, 2012. Departure time: 22:00pm (arrive 6.45am, Thursday 5th)
Caen-Portsmouth. Monday 9th July 2012. Departure time: 16:30pm (arrive 21.15pm)

I paid £278 (+£5 credit card booking fee) with a cabin on the outbound crossing, sleeper chair upon return leg.
They only take a £25 deposit at this stage.

Cheers, Paul.

Good point about defining the ferry route as early as possible. I'm only interesting in going with the group (for me that's what's all about) but last year Sarah and I missed out on getting the main ferry because it was all booked up by the time we tried. End result was we ened up making the trip to Le Mans solo. Not a disaster but not what we would have chosen to do if we had the choice. The earlier the suggested ferry route/time is confirmed then the more likely that more of us will be able to book with the main group options.

Am I missing something here or will Brain at 1st Tickets not be offering a package with specific ferry for those wanting to travel as a group ?

I'm speaking to Brian next week once he has got the Britcar 24hr out of the way.

He will be able to offer packages including ferry .. or packages of just camping & tickets etc.

If people are happy to wait, we can see what he can offer, then if it's better to book the ferry separately we can do. I'll be planing on taking the tunnel.
