I have visions of it feeling like driving down the road, pressing the clutch and letting the kids change gear for you (or a similiarly dubious process).

I love Auto's but thats because I can sit on a hill knowing there is no clutch merrily burning away holding the biting point (at least i think there isnt)

Im not sure the sporto taking all the work away of pressing that pedal is for me - Im speculating wildly though I havent tried it.

I wonder if you can get one of those demon tweeks turbo dump valve chitter things for the clutch vacuum release,

erm, ch.peew peew peew, errrrrm

Yes, no problem Alan, if I cant find any I will take some on Sunday for you.
Ive been a bit lazy lately with the resto, lack of space is a pain. I need to move house

You could always use the handbrake, on most cars you will find it on the floor behind the gear lever

Due to other commitments I havnt had much car time recently but hopefully things should start moving again now.
Today I removed the headlights to get the rings re-chromed, for some reason the headlight glasses are marked differently, is this normal ?

Your car looks like it's in fantastic condition and not only that but very few folk have meddled with it. It's a very special motor. Now look sharp and let's get it on the road.

... hopefully one that will be used as intended though ( not a fan of garage queens)

Certainly wont be a garage queen, its got quite a few scratches here and there but im not worried about them, its an old car and I dont want it to look like its just out of the showroom.
"tidy" is what I'm going for, this car is a keeper, I have grown insanely attached to it even though I havnt driven it, dont think we will ever be parted.
Im currently trying to move house for one reason and one reason only, I need room to work on and house my cars

Just noticed your interesting thread. My 1966 912 was serviced in 1968 and 1969 by Motortune Ltd., as per your license holder, shortly after which the engine blew up and had to be rebuilt!
