Where do you check the production number Nick?

The production number is located on the dashboard, but cannot be checked directly against a VIN.

this whole saga does beg the question who are the real RS experts?
If I was looking to buy an RS, where would I actually go for honest, impartial advice? Who would really be able to tell me what I was getting?(apart from DDK of course )

Many of the "experts" either work at/own garages or dealers so does that vested interest colour their advice? I have always presumed that AP and M-P were experts in RS - they are certainly always in the Porsche press (and not just for the exotica they sell). If I were a new buyer, that would go a long way...as it seems to have done in court.

Thank god I already know my RS is a shonky old bit of kit

but I seem to remember this problem is huge in the blower bentley / jaguar & MG world.

There is an extra V8 Zagato as well... One was rolled down a mountain and rebuilt from the chassis plate The remains... well...

so the Bugatti that was raised from the lake that everyone agrees is an original car ...
