Yeah, the old girl can still deliver.

I'll admit I'd have liked to have taken my 993RS but it's up on 4 axle stands at the moment, the Speedlines having gone off for a winter refurb.

I met Chris Harris (the motoring journalist) who has the job at Evo my boy wants.
We chatted for a while and I let Chris know where his old 993 currently resides.
He used to own my RS and it was nice to learn some of the cars previous life. Needless to say Chris regrets selling it - as with many of the nice Porsche's he's had. I guess plenty of us have stories like that.

Whilst my car couldn't be there this 993RS was a very similar spec to mine. RHD, recaros, midnight blue, very nice. Nearly a twin of mine.

"We'll need to get to Cribbs Causeway really early because the queue of Christmas shoppers will back up the motorway for over 10 miles...."

Really? says I. So, we get there far too early and there's no bl**dy traffic all day. I could have had another couple of hours in bed. Here's our convoy about to have a McDonalds breakfast at what seemed to be 6.00am.

Great photos Paul and Ian. Sorry we didn't meet or recognize each other.
Beautiful picture of our 914/6 - we thought it was the right place to park it, beside its mid-engined descendants, the Boxster and Carrera GT! 8)

Cheers! :drunken:

It was good to meet Ant (epoch911) and he regaled me with stories of his RS.
I love this car. I'd call it "Brown Sauce' because it's all HP. 'H' for History and 'P' for provenance. Ant has history going back to day one. Condition is good but not concours, just the sort of car you can use and abuse. Lovely. It's charms worked on me.

Hi Paul
It was great to meet you as well as Nick and Vic..and thanks for the kind words on the car - I'm glad you liked it for what it is....next time you must take it out for a blast.

...you know I have wondered whether to start a thread on my journey of discovery with 0595...the people I've met, the things I've found out etc. Or would that just be too ME ME ME? Would anyone be interested?

See you soon (at Oulton if not before)

Ant
