it isnt far to Ambleside, I reckon that taking it steady, allowing for cars coming the other way over the Hardknott and not getting lost it should take about roughly 1hr15mins - we're leaving at 09:20 so we should be there around 10.30-10.45 ish - hopefully there will be a mobile phone signal so worst case we dont see you give us a call.
The group is only really required to get folks up to Ambleside, then its every man for themselves to do what they want. Personally I'll be turning up the pace to 'touring' until the luch stop which I reckon we'll do around Nateby area
Cool, we'll aim to be in Amblside from around 10.15 and will give you guys a bell then

Sorry for the delay James, been away...
Put me down for 9.15am...I know the lakes pretty well (my dad knows it alot better). Haven't confirmed our google map route yet, but will certainly take us over Hardknott and into Ambleside

TR4A (Hire Car).
After putting 165hours into the 911 in the last two months it's still not ready. Just started putting the first coats of primer on the car this week.

I am in the 9.15 group too. I live in the Lakes and know the Hardknott and Wrynose passes bits. Though not been to St Bees area for over 20years when I did the C2C on foot! As you say we'll be ok!

Oh, bye the way, the toilets at St. Bees, do they have soft paper or is it that scratchy izal stuff.

only got as far as the troughs so unfortunately my research ended there
you will also notice I have indicated in the tourist guide which places have garages / fuel availble.
