1 million views and counting! I’m quite frankly astonished, especially as there’s still so much work ahead of us!…

Congrats!
My thread about the Lola elsewhere is just about to hit 1,130,000 hits, but started in 2008.
Miles ahead of me…

Just checked:

Darren deserves a lot more than he has in that case!

Hi Matt, All looking awesome, going to be such a lovey build.

Did you rebuild the column itself? I want to rip mine apart to get rid of some vertical play but I’ve not done any research yet as to what you can actually change, bearings etc.

Hi Gary
We need the UJs from Tim Barker first and then we’ll be rebuilding the column too, yes - update to follow.

So we found out a while ago (but I forgot to post this) that the actual car still exists (confirmed by Chrzanowski Porsche):
And before any of you ask, yes I have asked on more than one occasion since if they can put me in touch with the owner. To see it now, whatever its condition would be amazing, but unfortunately radio silence prevails…

It might be better to ask them to alert the owner to the existence of this thread and the fanatical lengths you are going to in order to recreate it. If I owned it that would intrigue me but I wouldn’t be interested in yet another person who is interested in the historic car.

Instead of just saying "done", can't you post pictures of how they were refurbished? Would make the thread even more interesting.

Ouch! Okay Ian! I’ll ask Joe how he did it then. I don’t do any of the work, I just find the bits, project manage and pay the bills!

I'm happy with done Matt!
I'd like to do more updates to my build thread but often I don't think people appreciate how much effort it takes to stop, takes images, write up and upload.
I'd imagine asking for images and a write up of that job could easily add a couple of hours labour to what I'm guessing was already a costly job.
Loving the updates thanks
Richard

Thanks Rich, spot on. I just document what I can and don’t try to bug the guys too much about what they’re doing (basically stripping, checking, vapour-blasting, painting, passivating, plating and re-assembling thousands of individual parts at the moment…)
