That will be an adventure..

When I made my floor I used 2 x 6 foot long 1" sq box section steel (3mm section) and 3 x G Clamps and a progression of light hammering, surprisingly effective.
They would probably do that section and in a length to span the car.

Small patch today, looked fairly 2D in cardboard turned out anything but!



The window corners, particularly the RH are not great so I want to get the shelf in and stabilise this whole area before cutting out.

Still trying to find someone with a long folder!

And today it’s the other side.

This was pretty quick, 1.5 hours from cardboard to ground welds.

Helped by a wonderful hammer form tool

Good going Gary, those patches are awkward to cut out, make the patch and weld in and grind, rather you than me.
I looked at one of those wire brushes for the angle grinder the other day in the local paint shop but look fearsome, and thought of you!
Must be a better way to dress metal.

I’d be lost without my grinder wire brush, nothing better for paint/rust removal and a final once over before welding to get that bright metal around the edges.

This afternoon was spent around the oil pipe through body connection. Absolute bitch of a piece to make but satisfying at the same time! Now need to get some 25mm steel tube to make the pipes and weld them in.

Not welded in yet as I need to clean up the inside of the inner wing where the repair is as I won’t be able to get a grinder around it.
