Pretty sure the ducktail is the original and the badge has been much discussed too. I’m sure Nigel may be looking in and can let us know

Please correct me if I'm wrong but aren't the Fuchs wheel centre caps incorrect for that year? Car does look great though in that colour, almost as good as the orange '74 cars I lusted after in their day!

Other than the bubble on the driver-side door, where else did you spot rust? Strut brace not part of M471 package.

Is the strut bar just a bolt-in addition, or are the mounting brackets added/welded?

From your last question, I'm not quite sure how you're looking at the photos in any detail. The mounts are clearly welded. I can even see that if I look on my phone. As for the 'rust' above the striker plate - I believe that's glue, but I may be wrong.

Have to wonder, as you've only posted on DDK once before making this comment, hope you're not trolling...

I'm with you. I am watching with interest. If the current bold bid has put off a few others and he got it at that he's done well. If (and we are presuming of course) it's Sanjay of this parish I'm guessing there maybe another RS coming onto the market if he's successful

the badge is nice, it does look like a good highlight compared to the usual stick type one

I think it's a fun bold bid, but I don't think it'll sway other serious bidders in its own right. As a watcher and nearly bidder on a couple of BaT and CC auctions, even though it's conventional to build up the bidding, there's no point when the value is much higher. The 400k bid hasn't reached reserve, so there's more bidding to go before it sells (the owner could of course reduce it).

We should defs have a sweepstake. I think it's sub 500, but not by much. I'll go for 488k

It's a difficult one - I adore the car and know it quite well having spent a fair bit of time around it and fortunate to have been out for a run or two in it. I suppose I've never looked at it with a critical eye more just an admiring one.
