Got it out of the garage, took it for a run, parked it up, then reversed into it in my X5, dented the bonnet...then headed out on a 70mile journey...and promptly broke down...found the cause (thanks to Chris Turner for some pointers) and carried on, had a wonderful drive, loved it....until I saw the dent in the front again...aaaaaargh

Nice day, roof off, out for a run round. Called in at euro car parts for some service bits. Gave the guy my list and when he said "anything else?" I asked for the poster on the wall behind the counter. He said "no prob mate"

I don't know if the pads are any cop but I like their ad.

I just made my post before reading yours.
Sorry to hear of your bad day. Hope the damage isn't too bad to sort.

Spent a brilliant morning at Tuthills with lots of great people.
I took the scenic route back, stopped at a pub, watched the world go by for a while, saw a lot of country I have never seen before, listened to a Raymond Chandler play on the radio, did a lot of red lining and arrived home a happy bunny.

Left Venice, 4.50 am, drove up to Milan, across Northern Italy on the Auto Strada watching the sun rise on the Dolomites - very special.
Headed to Mont Blonc in sunshine on quiet, fast roads, under the mountain and into Southern France, then a great blast up to Calais again in sunshine on quiet roads.
Arrived at Calais at 5.50 pm, onto the euro tunnel train and back to Portsmouth for 8.35 pm picked up my wife and straight to a local bistro for a celebratory glass of wine.
Magic day
- just over 1000 miles in with great company (three other mates in cars).
15h 45 mins.
And for the technical / interested -
Car ran at around 190 - 210 deg, 4000-4200 rpm, around 20 oil pressure, at 'peage' speeds all day.
If anyone is considering a Euro trip - do it !!!!

Brilliant!
What a run.
We went from Brescia and Desanzaro and now down in sunny Tuscany for the rest of the week ahead.
I would dread doing that trip in my 2000 Km old FIAT hire Panda diesel.

Took this old girl out for a drive around some quiet Nth Norfolk roads.
Popped some tunes on and just drove for the hell of it!

Had a ride out to Llandudno for the Porsche on the Prom event. No idea how many were there, I'm sure someone will have counted them, but a rough guess would be around 200. Not many early 911's, but a good show nontheless.

But we didn't take any pictures so you'll just have to take our word for it.
