Maybe if I’d been wearing a bigger watch instead of a 36mm, it wouldn’t have been such a shock. It certainly looked very well made, the case finish was very nice.

Moving on from the Panerai size shock.
Whilst I was in the jewellers, I started to look at the Tudor range, in particular the Black Bay 58. I’ve never really considered a Tudor, but was impressed by the quality. I now find they do a bronze version which I’ve seen on the web. I’m not sure which stockists have it available.
Any thoughts.

Longines - any good?

I've long liked old Longines watches - I just like the simple, understated simplicity of them. Slim lines, simple dials, not overly showy. I've nearly bought one on a few occasions. Are they any good, as watches - are the insides quality, reliable, accurate?

Rob I don't think there has much advance in mechanical movements in 40 years. Very good movements are available at low cost from different sources. Sorry this isn't specific to your question but most modern mechanical movements will be good

Hi Bob,

Tudor are generally pretty well made, way back when, they shared a lot with Rolex but have developed into their own brand moreso now.

I have a Pelagos and a Celebration, very different in appearance but both wear nicely. I have looked at a Black Bay as well, could easily see me buying one.

If anyone is after a 2016 Rolex Sea Dweller 116600 I’m selling mine…

Weirdly this one owner 1973 Omega Speedmaster Mk4 might be one of the rarest Speedmasters actually for sale at the moment!

There are 7,500 Omega Speedmasters for sale on Chrono but only 7 reference 176.009 MkIV’s! That’s 0.09%!

Comes with its original box and Extract of The Archives from the Omega Museum.

Superb watches and what a lovely one

Gorgeous 34/37mm Omega Seamaster from late 50’s/early 60’s. Easily has the nicest dial and hands I’ve ever seen on one of these.
