Interesting observation.
I needed a small part & I realised it was raided from the VW parts bin so shopped about.
VW specialist : £9+p&p
Rose Passion : £6+big p&p
Porsche dealer : £3.37

Confused. Have you built an ark, to save the car when the rains come?

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
It's a lovely day in the North West so I drove into work making the last of the MOT which runs out on Saturday!
As I haven't used it for a few weeks the amount of smoke from the oil burning off the heat exchangers was slightly concerning...

Yes James, tagging along to clm (oil cloud and all) I've seen the e mails but till I'm home and can check I don't remember the hotel/travel details of what I've booked.

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
Glorious day here so just spent an hour and a half blasting around empty country roads.
Now back to wash the orange beastie and do the same in that tonight.
Love deciding when to work and when not

Sent alternator off to be refurbished. Ran across a company called 'Alternatorman' (http://www.alternatorman.co.uk who, on eBay, say they will collect your alternator, repair/refurbish it, and return it to you in three days for £90... The only other quote I got was for over £200 + VAT. It's an early Motorola type, so costly to replace if available. Sent a photo of the unit and got instant reply saying it was no problem. Collected tomorrow, so hopefully back beginning of next week. Will be interested to see what it's like – all repairs guaranteed for 12 months.
Also received wiring kit to completely rewire car from scratch – original loom was crap. Oh, and also got a box of little bits and pieces for the engine. Happy days. Or Happy Daze.
