fitted the security post....well actually did it last weekend...but no time to post...bugger was that after cutting out the old concrete..200mm with 2 layers of reinforcement mesh (for a garage floor.....!!...thats the analy retentive building Control people for you.....), and then excavating the hole for a metre....I hit the concrete foundations....just 100mm shy of the depth i actually needed....so out with the welding gear and cutter and shortened the 3 part assembly to suit

not easy...but fun to get more familiar with welding

Hi Mark, it does recess flush into the floor, the top chrome grab handle needs to be turned 90 degrees to release the catch then it drops
Locking is via the chrome cylinder at the top, hinged cover plate at the bottom of the post then folds over the top of the post to creat a flush detail

Fitted an in car inertia switch to the Facet fuel pump feed, switches fuel pump off in the event of a knock.

No probs - I used this one - bought new OEM from e bay £11 inc post.

Land Rover & Range Rover Remote Fuel Pump Inertia Switch, WQT100080

It uses a plug which I bought easily at a local auto / boat / caravan electrical outlet.

It feels like it has a steel ball inside poss held in place by a magnet, when it gets a good knock the ball dis lodges and breaks (or makes) the circuit. Mounted in the car behind drivers seat so as to be easy to reset.

Reset is simply a case of pushing a button on the top of the unit.

Didn't fancy the facet busily trying to empty the tank in the case of a knock, as it runs constantly with ign on, also the inertia switch would kill the engine, after the carbs ran dry.

Slight concern re nuisance tripping but unlikely I think as (some !) land/ range rovers are rough service vehicles.

Will post if I have any problems with it.

New set of tyres fitted, the old ones are still ok, so had them fitted to my spare rims.

Spent more money on tiny parts nobody will ever see... Again.

I took the 993 for a drive. Did some little jobs on the yellow car and it's going into the garage for a few jobs on Monday

Took the kids up to Coniston for the start of a 23 mile walk. Car is epic after the cam timing being adjusted, revs like mad, goes like a rocket.

Kids did ok too.
