Nice, but it isn't a Stainless Rolex DaytonaAshley James wrote:Although I still have my old fashioned mechanical watches, a Glycene and a LeMania single button chronograph, I haven’t worn them for years because I don’t need a watch and they’re all too easily damage. However I’ve had a hankering for an Apple Watch for some time now and yesterday a friend turned up with a spare one that he’d bought for his sister who didn’t want black. It saved me £80 amd I’m learning to use it.
So far I’ve discovered that I don’t have atrial fibrulation, that it can’t say if I’m having a heart attack, but that my static heart rate is 50, 107 when I’m walking fast uphil and that I’ve exceeded my exercise goals by lunchtime, though I didn’t know I had any.
It also works in conjunction with the Satnav on my phone and does a host of other things that I’ve yet to fathom out. It’s an amazing device and it doesn’t surprise me that Apple sell more watches than Switzerland.
My friend is very keen on his because of you fall over and don’t move for 20 seconds, it vibrates and waits another forty more before phone the emergency services in your area and giving them your location. He drinks a pint of beer and a bottle of wine every night and thinks he might need it and his chum fell over in his bathroom and knocked himself out. When the emergency services arrived, he was unconscious and bleeding badly, so it saved his life.
You think about these things when you’re seventy three and live alone although I hardly drink at all.
