Yes I used them for a simple fix to my son. I agree he does farm them out but when I contact Steve directly (although I thought I was 'special' because I had an email saying he would be doing a bit of work post retirement) he directed me back to Terry.

British Military issue Omegas in 1953 for the RAF. Great watches these, super cool, good size and continuing to rise in value.

1973 Omega Dynamic DeVille with rare blue peacock design dial.

Omega Dynamic's were very popular and made in every conceivable case and dial combination. Most had elliptical shaped brushed stainless steel cases. This cushion cased 39mm DeVille
( model 166.081 ) left the factory with a highly polished finish with a matching polished Omega 1175 steel bracelet.
It was powered by the legendary cal 565 automatic movement with a 50 hours power reserve.
The rare blue dial is sometimes described as ' blue peacock feathers' or ' blue linen.'
When pictured in 2 dimensions under magnification, it appears to be chaotic mixture of blue feathers and assorted irregular shapes. When viewed on the wrist in 3 dimensions none of these
details are visible to the naked eye and the dial, depending on the light, is seen as a subtle shimmering iridescence switching from royal to midnight blue depending on the angle of view.
Very difficult to photograph but amazing on the wrist.

Dial.Blue 'peacock feathers' in very good condition. Very minor marks seen viewed with X4 loupe.
Hands and hour markers. Brilliant white slim batons.
Crystal. New replacement Omega Hesalite acrylic. Ignore 6.00 o clock scratches on photo's.
Water proof. No, not now but the case could be sealed by an experienced watchmaker.
Quick set. Yes.2 methods by pumping the crown or back and forward from 8.00 to 12.00 o clock
Bracelet. Omega 107 fit 1175 highly polished factory finish.Minor 'press' dent on clasp. Replacement original and after market leather perforated sports watch straps are available.
Removing the case back with either an Omega 107 tool or a standard Jaxa style wrench allows the replacement to be easily fitted. A standard leather spring bar fitting strap cannot be fitted.
The fitted polished s/s bracelet comes with an extra link.

I'm normally not into quartz watches, but I got persuaded to get me a Bulova Moon Watch (Ultra High Frequency Quartz). I'm into tool watches with a space pedigree; not sure why, I just like them! I already own a Breitling Cosmonaute and a Fortis Official Cosmonauts Chronograph. Still on my list is -of course- the Omega Speedmaster Professional. Then, just recently, somebody pointed the Bulova Moon Watch (or 'Luna Pilot' it's called now) out to me and I instantly liked the design (with the elegant and unique pushers). So I bought one, got it on and didn't take it off my wrist since...

It's just the perfect daily watch...

Possibly the nicest untouched vintage Tudor Submariner Date matte dial watch I’ve ever seen...and half the price of its Rolex brother even though it has exactly the same case etc etc....

How much for your watches ?

For Sale. Black dial Excelsior Park 2 register chronograph.






Here's a lovely Excelsior Park chronograph. They made professional split seconds stopwatches since the early 20th century. In the mid 20th century Gallet became majority shareholders in the company and insured that they had 1st dibbs on all EP watch chronograph movements.
As far as I know the only other watchmakers allowed these beautiful movements were Zenith, Girard Perregaux, Certina and Sinn.
EP also made chronograph watches under their own name.
I wouldn't be surprised if Gallet manufactured them because they look and handle very much like a 1940's Gallet chronograph.
Gallet rates these movements so highly that their website advises that if an EP movement was an option on their models ( as opposed to a Venus or Valjoux )
$ 400 should be added to the value of said watch. All EP chronograph movements feature a column wheel – not the cheaper to manufacture cam operation.
I can't be certain of it's date because of the confusing way EP recorded their movements but am minded to guess late 1940's maybe early 50's. The movement is Excelsior Park cal 4.
Unlike more modern chrono's that dampen the chronograph re- set, the EP has a wonderful rifle bolt flyback action returning to 12.00 o clock with a re assuring click that reverberates through your hand .

Chrono pushers. The top pusher rattles slightly in the case through use, but fine on the wrist

Hands. Dauphine.The tip of the seconds hand follows the curvature of the crystal ( typical EP )
Crown. Unsigned – All Gallet and Excelsior Park watches had plain unsigned crowns
