The hardback seats I’d purchased needed rails. I did investigate many different options and most of the alternatives were markedly cheaper than the Porsche parts. However, the quality seemed rather flimsy on some and many users reported real problems with installation.
These rails are genuine Porsche and excellent quality. They are heavy but well engineered and no doubt reassuringly safe in the event of any incident. You’d expect them to be a simple ‘plug & play’ and so it turned out. Everything lined up a treat, no issues making the rails fit the seats or the car.

So, Stage 1, no seats:

They look great. Just like brand new Porsche seats.

Liking the seat backs No sarcasm implied - really works.... and that's how much I know about rodding....

Time for an update. Apologies for the quiet spell, some distractions and then a fortnights holiday paused the restoration but I'll now try and add content to the thread again.
Here's a few shots of the rear bumper assembly:

New wing reinforcing plates painted and installed (the old ones were corroded).

Here's the rear bumper about to be lifted into place.
You can see I've refitted the wiring loom, wing to bumper seals, number plate & number plate lights. There's also some more heat shields pop riveted inside the bumper moulding.

And with the lights and rear reflector slotted in:

Back to the front now for the washer bottle in the 'frunk'.
You'll recall the standard washer bottle (serving screen & headlamp washers) is normally positioned in the passenger side front inner wing.
I've gone for a smaller 'RS' style container mounted inside the bonnet/front compartment.
I modified the wiring loom a little to get the wiring through the inner wing and then tidied away any surplus connectors.
I've also been able to drill a hole in the top of the tank and reuse the existing level gauge. That way I'll get a 'washer water low-level' warning light.
I'm very pleased with the set-up, it works fine and looks very neat.

And fits invisibly under the standard bonnet carpet.
