The résumé for this project is that of a Hot Rod built in 1978…a time when the early cars had undergone much development and testing, everything had been done, all enhancements were known...

…so when it came to strengthening we figured there's no point holding back, we'd do the lot……albeit with our own little twist!...

Engine bay strengthening….

Actually there's so much work that's gone into the front end to make it perfect and straight, it deserves a special mention, cheers Barry  ….

The harness mounts are perfect copies of factory originals…used in a slightly different way…from John Gausden at ST-Classic…..Dave has kindly produced a set of awesome twin tailed Repa harnesses for me which I'll show at a later date 8)

A few more bits and bobs…..

…really pleased with the fibreglass engine lid and bonnet, very light and should tweak and paint perfectly…

Image

Image

…no torsion hole cover being used so we did away with the pressing for a smoother look…

Image

…battery box delete and bumper mount backdating….

Image

Image

Image

…the doors really are Barry art 8)

Image

…arches lightly rolled….

Image

Image

…and no need for an engine lid release…

Barry wasn't quite happy with how the retaining screws sat on the closing plate, therefore the evening before I collected he made up this special tool to add 'dimples' so that the screws would sit flush…

…Mr Carter sure does have class! 8)

My sincere thanks for everything Barry…..as I've said once before…..'the best money I've ever spent!'

Cheers,
