The result of the body and the paint are as we all expected, and then some to say the least.

Lovely car so far and I'm with Mike's colour choice above.
Most are Red and imho too much and far too 'predictable', what was it originally?

With a value hat on don't you 'have' to go back to original to get the high $ level, but for me Mike's colour choice is spot-on.

Looking forward to the build - up.

The issue for me (with the colour) is there is so much of which ever colour is chosen

Carpets, door cards, seats, calls, rear boot area, window trim rails, seat backs....all of these are in tones of the base colour.....

Red is lovely when seen in (sadly few) original remaining cars...it’s gorgeous patina is sublime...but I don’t like it when it’s new...too brash...and seemingly difficult to get the same original red colour...certainly from the original Vaumol range from Connolly ...this is also the case for the Ochre (orange) colour

I do want to use genuine Connolly leather, and although the newly available Vaumol range does not use the same traditional processes...it is important to me....so too is the selection of a correct early 1960’s period colour from Jaguar...so my choices have limits

Grey has always been a possibility...either pale...or more likely dark...that’s the Architect bit of me...more restrained in the application of colour

Interesting so many of you suggested Sage Green...I do like that...and it goes well with Gunmetal......

Great to hear you talk so passionately about the quality of the leather Jonathan, which of course begs the question who will do the interior work for you, given the level of detail you work too?

Presumably there are a classic Jaguar trimmer specialists out there?

Yes, there are quite a number of well known and respected trimmers, more than those who seem to serve the Porsche community

There are ready made trim kits from all of them....each seem to source their own leather/vinyl/hardura/moquette/carpet, composed to form a best case palette.....which when I then wish to use Commolly leather creates an issue as it’s colour shades are different....

So once I make my mind up about the colour I then need to go back to these suppliers and see which material to get from whom....the simplest solution is to by a single kit from a single supplier...but this may not give me the colours I want

I could buy an old fashioned sewing machine and make up the pieces...but as my own world of stitching is all hand stitching I am not convinced I will do this....so I will buy ready made pieces...but certainly fit them myself

Fitting them however will raise my OCD levels to the forefront as ready made parts also don’t always fit....so I might have to make templates for certain trim parts and give them to the trimmers just so they can make the pieces fit to my exact car....

I know that it was a long time ago that I was heavily involved with Jaguars but 'back then' one of the top (the top ?) Jaguar trimmers was Suffolk & Turley based near Nuneaton (Next to RS Panels).

I used them a few times to upholster replica D-Type & C-Type seats, head fairings, etc & their work was superb.

It might be worth visiting them ...

Great to see the original Vaumol colour range re-introduced again, Connolly were very helpful when I was colour matching the leather on the Ferrari. It would be fantastic Jonathan, given a first class full kit for one of the leading trimmers to then fit it all yourself, wonderful level of satisfaction there.... Top man!
