Darren, yours is correct. The pressing was for the 72 only oil tank flap release handle & cable. 72 models had the oil fill in the offside rear wing. For the 73 model this feature was dropped & the oil tank fill was returned back to the engine bay, but the b pillar pressing were continued to be used as they wouldn't have wanted to change the tooling again.

I was thinking they might all be the same (admittedly I know little) - is that not the same pressing I can see from the rear of the panel on page 2 of this thread?

There should be 2 seals on the rear number plate panel, the one that is fitted in the picture and one that goes between the panel and the cross member.

The boys have been busy beavering away on my car and it now has some white on it. They have also back dated the B post.

The colour is Light Ivory paint code 131 and I am very pleased with the colour. In the flesh it looks quite creamy. I am not sure how creamy Light Ivory should be, but from memory it looks a little more Ivory than David’s 2.2 and Mick's old R but they both have been repainted. It’s difficult to know if the colour is correct as the only cars I can look at have been repainted and who is to say that they are correct. It’s all a bit subjective.....but its lovely what ever.

The car looks simply fantastic, I've been itching to see the latest photos.

I wouldn't fret over the colour - we notice in our bodyshop that there are always slight variences, some manufacturer colours will have a number of shades for the same paint code and there will also be differences between batches and paint manufacturers. This would certainly have been the case when the cars were being built so there would have been variations from new. Even cars with original paint won't be the same colour now as they were 40 years ago.

It also really surprises me how different the colour can look on a car once it been fitted up with the interior and glass back in. In my subjective opinion your car looks pretty perfect as it is.

I probably wouldn't have bothered but I suspected you would change the B post.

Can't wait to see more. Very well done.

Although I love the early '70's 'safety colours' (Signal Yellow, Viper Green, Tangerine, Chartreuse, etc) it's hard to beat Light Ivory on an early 911/912 ...
