I was directed into a duff queue initially and waited far too long to get in, and so as a marshal came up to me I was about to give her the benefit of my thoughts when she handed me a ‘Golden Ticket’ and said because we like your car, please go ahead and park in the inner site in the Golden Ticket car park.



So I was only too happy to oblige..



If only I’d known I’d have washed the old Saab too!



Car of the day for me was the 54 Frazer Nash Le Mans coupe. I’d even swap the 900 turbo for it.

I had exactly the same Saab [company car] back in the day- but with tan leather upholstery- there was a really neat plastic "boot" for the folded hood- looked very smart!
it had my LeJeune chrome "flying pig" bonnet mascot too- now on my 5.0 V8 Range Rover- some 40 years later!
Loved it- fast ,seated four in comfort. looked great, what's not to like?
Until I moved up a couple of levels and was able to get a black 911 supersport cabriolet with biscuit leather.................

I’ve got the same plastic ‘boot’ cover too - never used it Clive. Not really sure why. There was another one at Bicester today - they’d used the boot I noticed.

Great to meet you Jason—the Southside Hustle's a very enjoyable Sunday morning.

I had the whole fleet out this afternoon.
I was checking the 914/6 through before a classic run at the weekend, and MoT in the next few days.
The hillclimb season has finished for us, so I put some older tyres on the 911, and will move it to the back of the garage for now.
The tractor was behind the 914/6, so had to come out to be able to move the other two.
Then later in the month, we will have to make room for our Beetle (in kit form ) that will be this year's winter project, hopefully!



Before that , I have a lot of apples to pick, grass to mow and hedges to trim ...................
