After being dragged round the out of town shopping experience that is the Trafford Centre today , I managed to sneak of for five minutes to indulge in a little retail therapy of my own.......
even managed to negotiate a couple of hundred off....happy days .

My boss wears that most days.
Yeah i did like the look of the Enicar, but i've been after a '60s breitling for a while, and this watch just kind of ticked all the boxes for me, i also think, much like pre 73 porkers they are fairly 'safe' money. (As with my car, touch wood!)

OK, I can't imagine you guys will like this much but it's class.
Not very motorsport but very art deco.
It's a Rolex Prince 'Brancard' with flared case. White & yellow 9ct gold.
This one is hallmarked Glasgow, 1929.

This thread is slowly, everso slowly having an effect on me. Here in Harrogate we have a beautiful and very old jewellers and in the window on a glass shelf, they have always had a very fine selection of vintage watches.
Those recent greasy nose marks on the window..... they`ll be mine then.
But I need a gearbox rebuild first.

I love that Ogdens shop - they have some lovely old watches in there! Quality!

One thing I love about these vintage watches is the history.
Inside the case back on this watch there are scribed marks from watchmakers who, over the years, have repaired or serviced it.
There's initials and dates from the fourties, fifties, seventies etc.
Wonderful to think of someone working on this watch all those years ago.
