Fitted! And checked with circuit tester. Tips - be very careful with alignment. I have shimmed mine slightly offset to make sure it lines up and doesn't fall past the operating switch.

The current flow diagram on page 165 of the Haynes soft backed manual shows a wiper switch for late model with intermittent wipers which has the '53c' washer pump output (unused, obviously). I have not been able to work out which Porsche switch part number this is.

However, the '75 California spec which I am restoring came with a broken wiper switch (914 613 306 18), with internal parts missing. It does not have the 53c terminal. I dropped on a bargain boxed NOS replacement VW switch which is SWF branded (the OEM), so I bought it in the hope I could use it in the 914. It has no VW or Porsche part numbers printed on or cast into it, so it must be SWF's aftermarket replacement. The box has VW part number 111 953 519 E/H on it. The terminal numbering is different for the VW application which makes it super confusing, but from spending ages going around it with a multimeter ant taking my broken 914 switch apart, I can see that it is the same functionally as the one shown in the 914 Haynes manual. Therefore VW wiper stalk assembly 111 953 519 H (which I believe superseded 111 953 519 E) appears to be the same as the 914 switch with the electric washer pump terminal. The 53c terminal on my SWF 111 953 519 E/H switch is not wired through the 5 pin connector. It is an individual black wire with a terminal on the end.

Now I just need to find a bargain NOS indicator stalk to go with it now!
