Anyone familiar with or know the whereabouts of this UK supplied RHD car?

It was purchased new by a good friend of mine's father.

DVLA says green in colour and on the road.
Fully loaded in that picture, including chrome bumpers!!

I'd love to be able to find period photos of my cars, but it seems it is not to be.

Love the period picture. I've never, ever, seen chrome bumpers on a 356 before. Presumably then, they were an option?

Happy to hear it's still out there (although Porsches are meant to have the highest survival rate of any car manufacturer, I believe).
Thanks for checking, Simon. :)

Yes, chrome bumpers were an option. I know a '54 with them in Switzerland.
314DPB is definitely around, it was on ebay in 2006 but I don't know where it is now.

Will look out for your fathers car Ian, but I have nothing on it at this time I'm afraid.

I have just become the proud owner of a 57 356A rhd x race car. I intend to enjoy the car as is and will eventually restore the car as the previous owner kept most of the parts taken off. For your records vin is 100620. Image Image

Welcome Chris, I bet you're very pleased, that looks like a great car. It would be interesting to hear a bit more, the engine and what mods the car has to make it a racer ?

The car is running a modified 912 engine, rebuilt A box with close ratio. plexiglas, dual circuit , B brake drums , fibreglass bonnet, aluminium engine lid. l am still looking into the suspension mods. It was an fia passport car. It was raced from the seventies which was probably why it survived so well, no road salt. The previous owner bought it in 74 and has looked after it very well

Yes Chris an interesting car. I wonder if it was raced in PCGB race scene in the 70's? I have a lot of the club mag's and views of the cars used but they normally have the reg numbers still attached.
