Thanks Max, understand what you mean. Good luck with your restoration and I will take a look at the thread.

In my case, although lots is clear, I wait to see what happens when we get going in the UK on the restoration.

Cheers, Richard.

Well, there's been a bit of progress. The Orange Car, plus a few extra bits, are now at a warehouse in Brisbane waiting for a ship:

The car is home, thanks Mel for the help getting it back from the shipping warehouse in Southampton.

The previous owner - hi Mitchell - had stripped the car and additionally amassed a fair few parts. So it came with many boxes of bits and I've spent some time going through the boxes to see what I've got.

Here's my favourite so far (I believe it's a NOS alloy deck lid, still in primer) 8)

Wow - that's very cool. They are worth a chuffing fortune....

Congrats on getting the car over - it was great to meet you at Hedingham - good luck with the next stages :-)

Green with envy for engine cover.
Mine was registered March 70, 300+ cars later than yours.
Really looking forward to your posts on this.

I will post some more pics, honest. Thanks for the replies. Great to meet you too, Rich. I have some pics of your car (and yours Darren) from Hedingham, which will be used for inspiration during dark days!

Hi,
My 2.2s is almost finished and will be home in around 2 weeks if you wish to take a look.
I too bought, 4 years ago, a NOS engine lid in ally. Remember to use a used engine lid shock as new ones are too strong!
A very nice touch though and real pension money.
Good luck Ian

Hi Ian,
Yes please!
Will be in touch via PM.
By the way I saw the other early 70MY RHD Signal Orange 2.2S at Hedingham. (I believe it's the sister to our cars and is one chassis number below mine). Give me n years to get mine finished and I reckon we could get the three of them together. Do you know who owns that one?
Cheers, Richard.

Inspiration...

My Signal Orange UK 70S had two sister cars, same colour, seemingly all registered by Porsche UK. Demonstrators or Press cars perhaps. They were early in the production run.
As suggested by the posts above, Ian owns one of the other two orange S-es, and has recently finished the resto. It was a pleasure to be invited to see that car last weekend - thanks Ian - and to check out the fine details of a very nicely-finished car.

2 sisters?
Indeed there are two others, but I don't see either on the Autofarm list? (apologies if I'm missing something).
I was talking about Signal Orange (a lighter colour than Blood Orange aka Tangerine - looks like Autofarm have a 70S in Blood Orange).

Hope yours is going well. Sounds like you did a thorough job on the engine with Neil B. Regardless of colour they are all one big dysfunctional family; I think there were only 35-ish RHD S-es in 1970? We could all fit in the car park of a decent restaurant...

Cheers, Richard.
