Re: SPA 6 Hours - Sept 2013
Some great photos already posted
For those of you who couldn't make it .. you missed a good one
So , Thurs evening & the usual meet for the boat from Hull. 3 cars, me & the wife, Russ & Simon, Peter & Jason. Sharing the car deck was this loverly 1968 2.0S on its way down to Italy as part of the Liege - Rome ? Nav rally

Usual great banter on the boat from Hull , sharing the bar area with a pretty large number of Harley Bikers. Too many sherbets & woke up Fri am pretty tired & with a pounding head
Then onto our 1st detour ..... As Russ said, we started out at what must be one of the best Automotive Museums in Europe .. maybe it was because we had gone there with no expectations, but wow, what a collection

I need a copy of this to remind the wife ..

Re: SPA 6 Hours - Sept 2013
After lunch at the Museum .... the far too tedious drive on some of the shittest motorways down to Spa , we came off early & did a bit of cross country and finally arrived to meet the rest of the lads for a beer

Having slightly over slept on Sat am
, had a nice run to the circuit, only to be faced with a few miles of ques to get in
. This was where I discovered, running my high comp motor on standard 95 octane fuel ( even with octane booster) meant it struggled with tick over whilst in traffic ( return journey ran on 98 & it was fine in the Brugge traffic ) .
It was good to see the circuit were taking the classic car security seriously as they did issue each driver & car with a matching identity sticker ... basically the car couldn't leave teh car park without the owner
a few photos from me
we all felt like this looked

Re: SPA 6 Hours - Sept 2013
Another very enjoyable trip with great company providing lots laughter.
Many thanks to Russ for taking me there....the car being far more comfortable and quieter than I had imagined when told I'd be going in a stripped out ex race car!
The Louwman museum was an excellent find by Russ and well worth visiting. A huge collection of cars from the dawn of motoring through the years. All the cars were extremely well presented and displayed along with masses of associated memorabilia. Hard to believe it has all been collected by one family.
Was good to be back at Spa again and walking round the circuit gives some fantastic views and the pits were full of activity with plenty to see. Having the classic cars parking in a separate car park made for a good display too, Porsches being the most common car for people to have arrived in by far.
Nice video Chris, captures the atmosphere at Spa perfectly.
Good to detour via Brugge on the way home and look at architecture for a day after all the cars, in between sampling the obligatory Belgium bier of course.
Will add a few photo's later without being too repetitive as many of mine are very similar to those already posted.
