We have just got back. What a fabulous week-end! It was great to meet Margaret, Paul and Brendan, what an enthusiastic bunch! Sorry I didn't get to meet Alan and GaryD (or maybe I did and it all faded into the blur ) Such a fabulous selection of cars and drivers, everything from 1904 to 1974 in cars, and not far short of that in drivers as well...............
Big surprise to win the prize for the furthest travelled, but we WILL be back. It was such a great event, such an atmosphere, and such a history, with photos of Jim Clark in the programme hurtling through the courtyard in a Lotus Elite and Porsche 356 - must persuade Mike Smith to bring that car up for the event some time soon!

Classic Cars Tackle Scotland's Oldest Race Track in Bo'ness ...




That the Parliament congratulates the organisers of the Bo'ness Hill Climb, which took place at Kinneil Estate on 7 and 8 September 2013; understands that around 100 classic cars from across the UK competed on Scotland's oldest permanent race track at speeds of up to 70mph; notes that the track was once raced by legendary Scottish drivers such as Sir Jackie Stewart and Jim Clark; understands that the two-day event at Kinneil Estate featured a range of legendary cars from the early 20th century right through to the 1970s, including Lotus, Bentley, Morgan, Aston Martin, Cooper and Triumph; further understands that the Bo'ness Hill Climb was established in 1932, with the first race taking place in 1934, and racing regularly took place attracting top drivers from across the UK, including Sir Stirling Moss, until 1966 when the circuit was closed; welcomes the decision in 2008 by a group of dedicated enthusiasts, the Bo'ness Hill Climb Revival Ltd, who reopened the racing track with the help of Falkirk Council and staged their first competition in over 40 years; considers that the event, now in its sixth year, captivates its main audience of motor car enthusiasts and has also proved popular with locals and visitors from across the world who continue to make return visits each year; welcomes the boost to the local economy that the event brings, and wishes the organisers continued success in years to come.

We did!.....but since I didn't introduce myself.....I'm to blame. (Dark green jacket, - talked to you beside your car after racing was finished) For a first time there, that's a pretty decent time you set. Well done.

I was around, but you were pretty engrossed talking to others. I didn't bother about prize-giving.
