I could do with a bit of advise please. I am thinking about replacing the door pockets in my car as they look really poor. However, I'm really keen to maintain the lived in feel of the car. If I go for new door pockets, have others just found it leads on a journey of new door cars, new carpets and so on until the entire interior is redone? I'm just trying to understand what I'm getting into if i go down that route.

I already know I have to redo the dash facia as that looks like a mess, and the steering wheel needs restoring.

If I do get new door pockets, I have seen some advertised by lakewell - anyone any experience please?

So I'm finally back ( had to change my login due to email issues) but its the same me

The car has gone back to Tuthills today for a couple of points and I'm now sourcing the parts to do the interior bits and pieces - nothing major but it will dramatically improve the feel I think. What a pleasure it was to drive across to Tuthills this morning in bright sunshine with the engine absolutely singing.

Hope to get the interior all sorted before the summer.

Now the problem is that I have sold my 997RS and am getting worried about leaving the 2.4s anywhere so I'm now thinking about doing a backdate of a later car - either 3.2 C or 964 C2 to use more generally. Picked up a Fuchs brochure today and they do a wheel to fit the 964 these days. Could be interesting

Door pockets and door cards replaced.



In reality, the new door pockets match so well I could have got away with replacing two out of the four but its done now. Really pleased with how this is coming together.

Just the seat frame to finish, new dash trim to be fitted from Alan at Canford, and a period radio put back in place of the crap currently installed and I am done and ready to just enjoy it

So the seat frames are now complete but I am missing a knob that goes on the seat adjuster to allow the seats to slide back and forth on the runner:



The bit that is missing is the plastic knob, shown here on the other seat. Does anyone know if these are available still?

Also, any recommendations for floor mats. Mine are looking very threadbare. I want to go for an original look as possible. Does anyone know what type of carpet it is shown above - I'm not sure if its S and P or the other one

Well apart from the new floor mats, tis done:

















The new fasia's from Alan look great along with the period radio replacing the 8 track
