Some progress, been away from the garage almost all summer, getting married on Saturday so there´s lots of other things I have needed to sort =)

Welded the antenna hole in the right fender shut since my car came with a mechanical antenna from the factory, hence installed on the left side.

So, getting married on Saturday and leaving for California for our honeymoon on monday morning. Will pick up some stuff "over there" and have the best two weeks of my life! (And then come back and finish up the car)

I have had some progress, forgot to update!
Got married, been to the US on honeymoon and worked lots on the car!

Cowl/corner replaced/repaired






Had to pick up the brakes from the plater since I had forgotten to block the inlets... Deal done, ready for zinc!



It is getting there, baby steps but moving forward..



I´ve got everything on the shelf except most trim and window seals, everything else is new or reconditioned. I really hope to have it all together in April 2013.

Bought an oil pressure/temp gauge from Jim at EASY, considering a rebuild with gas gauge built in..

Some more progress.

Welded in the support brackets and epoxy primed the lower part of the suspension pan before welding in the top/cover. Had lots of work with the lateral supports, both left and right.



I have some more work before the front end is completely done, the areas where the inner wheel wells fold over the front latch panel need to be adressed.

As you might see, I left the new slam panel as is, without the pressings on the right side which you fabricated extremely nicely! Kind of bugs me since it is the only thing I haven´t backdated "correctly". I still have some time to do correct it though...

Im closer to the finish line than ever =) The shell will move on into paint in a month or so, "just" some lead work and a couple of smaller repairs left!

Got some work done this weekend, left side of the nose is starting to develop. Bad pic though, looks better IRL.

Media blasted doors and rear decklid but sun set early so I´ll have to continue..

The drivers side seat belt attachment was rusted out from the wheel well, cut it out and put in a new one form a donor




Bought an almost new (still porsche tags on it) muffler, it´s euro(Sweden/Germany) version but I have all the pipes for it so I should be able to run it without heating (my car is a US delivery)



I´ve got loads of more work ahead before paint (approx. 1 of december)

Some more progress

The weekends seem to just disappear, I spend almost all my time awake in the garage.

I got some terrific help from a former Porsche employee with shrinking and straightening out my decklid. 30+ years of panel beating skills amaze me!

Current status :



This week I´ll try to get the chassis up on a roller assembly which enables me to roll it outside and media blast some parts of the body and then apply some epoxy to the wheel wells and inner fenders and front luggage compartment.

First time the car has been ouside for a couple of years.

Media blasted the front luggage compartment and other small spots. I still have some minor sorting before paint so Im trying to keep a high tempo so i don´t end up working late nights just before paint.




Back in the garage

Looking really good Jesse. How I wish mine were at the same stage! I want to see it in its Gulf Blue (6603). I presume you will keep it that colour.
