Re: Colour
Correct it's the Tordoff car.PhilipB wrote:If that's the ex Jack Tordoff car (and I think it is) then the camera is not giving an accurate impression. It's much brighter red than shown. Not sure what they called it is 74 though.

If the white RS 3.0 Body , is the car listed on Maxted-Page (460 9036).
Since they are a bit light on info. (none). Here's a post by an owner in 2007 , on Armado Serrano's Pbase website ('THE PORSCHE 911 RSR RESOURCE PAGE') :
"I recently bought this restoration project from M Sport, owned by Andrew Stevens. The shell is now beautifully restored and it is going to Andy Prill in Essex to complete the final assembly and engine rebuild.
Hopefully I will be racing it next year in the CER series hopefully including Classic le Mans. Andrew Stevens ( who has one of the most fantastic collections of original Porsches including RS's and recently a new Carrera GT) had purchased it from Russel Edmund who had imported it from France where it had stood in storage waiting for someone to restore.
Originally it had been sold direct to a race/rally team based in Marseille (Scuderia Joffrey?) and was succesfully rallied by Christian Lunnel including winning the Junior Monte Carlo. I am now commencing research to find out the rest of it's history prior to it crashing and damagiung the front section which is why it retired for a few decades. I would welcome any information anyone has.
Andrew also acquired an original RSR engine which is what I will run with. I am led to believe that a matching number race car is a rare beast indeed. Anyway original engine type 911/77 #684 0175 will be fitted"

My dad took me to a motor show at Earls Court in the mid '80s.
You could buy a brand new 930 then, for just under £34K.
Upstairs was the red ex Tordoff RS3.0 on, I think, the Autofarm stand.
It was up for £36K.
All the new cars at the show were nothing to me, I just could not stop looking at the old RS.

It is slowly getting hotter, IB hot rod build.http://retrorides.proboards.com/thread/ ... orsche-911
Since Maxted-Page seems to not want to list any details on this RS 3.0 / 9036 (still only : "coming soon" noted on their site...since march or prior).
Does anyone know if the owner was able to nail down it's history ? (at this point below ....a gent in 2007) :
