maybe it was the accumulated oil stains left on their cobbles that did it. Personally I think we should park as 2008 all the same

apologies if this is answered elsewhere. Do we get to park our cars by our tents or do they go to some communal car park nearby/distant? Have only been to LM with PCGB before and your pitch included space for your car, so not sure if similar arrangement with the DDK site?

We have a large area with approx 65 adjoining numbered camping pitches & road ways through .... each pitch is big enough for a tent & a car ..... so basically you'll be sleeping next to your car surrounded by loads of DDKers & their cars

no probs ....... don't expect any PCGB style organisation though with DDK you get a camping pitch & relaxed attitude to life .... I can't wait either

What time is the meet up at Sees ?
We are arriving Cherbourg 10.30am Thursday so may not be able to make it in time, but keen to know if anyone else wants to meet up for the trip down who might be travelling down at a similar time.

Regarding food then are there plenty of places to buy prepared food OR do most people plan on a bit of DIY camp cooking ?

If some cooking is the done thing then is it possible to share some camp cooking facilities (with contributions for fuel, etc) ?

Not sure if there is an 'official' time to meet at Sees .... most just turn up as & when they get there. Others stop at other villages on route

Food ... big supermarkets nearby, but plenty of food places in the track 'village' , although don't expect variation .... as long as you like frites + sandwich / sauasage etc you'll be fine

Plenty of nice eating places though in & around the local villages

No food stands / tea vans etc on the campsite, so worth bringing a little stove / disposable barbque etc .. I imagine, if you buy some meat etc, there will be plenty of barbques fired up on the DDK campsite

So far it looks like we will be travelling down through France on our own so probably won't stop in Sees unless there are others from the group there. What time will you (or the 'main group' travelling on the ferry) be likely to be at Sees. If it's clear we can't make the time then best for us to just push on and meet everyone at LeMans.

not sure about the main group coming from Caen, maybe one of them will know what their plans are ? ..... our group is travelling down from Rouen direction and we're not quite sure where & when we are stopping yet ...

in the past they have been classed as 'Parade Laps' , so no helmet required. In theory it is meant to be a gentle drive around the circuit

This is of course assuming the French havn't changed the rules

I've been to Le Mans several times now and have never been able to get to Mulsanne or Arnage on the inside of the circuit to view, so I am hoping some of you know.

I did notice that at this years Le Mans 24hrs. bikes are all the rage, never bloody seen so many.

just seen the 'program' . The grids I love watching have always been running their night time sessions around midnight .......... due to the change in running order for 2010 they are now at the following times

02.40 - 04.00 : Grid 5 ( 1966 - 1971 )
04.00 - 05.20 : Grid 6 ( 1972 - 1979 )

I've never been able to make it past 3am
