Very, very nice. I particularly like the wheels. Over the long winter in Hokkaido, where I live, I want to get my wheels refurbed like that. What is the instruction regarding the finish? Currently the raised spokes are chrome, and the "webbing" in between is really grotty where I have removed the black paint that shouldn't have been there in the first place on my car. That finish on your wheels is exactly what I am looking for.
Cheers

If you do a search on the forum you'll find plenty about refinishing Fuchs
Here's a good thread

also Nick Moss' site has some good details

Thanks Bootsie - Anodising is probably the term I've been looking for. In the case of the '67 wheels, the black was limited to a very small V around the bolts, and the rest was all "silvery" but I still haven't found out exactly what the finish was. In any case, I really prefer that matte silver finish to chrome, and will keep researching. The problem will be whether anyone in Japan will be able to give me what I want.
Cheers
Greg

You're referring to the 67 S (4.5" x 15) Wheels which are finished like this.
Again, anodised with the black detal featuring as shown.

Yes, yes, yes !! At last !! That is EXACTLY the finish I'm looking for. Wow, this is the sort of breakthrough I was looking for. Thanks very much.
Sorry if that sounds a bit over the top, but I live in one of the remotest and most inaccessible parts of rural Japan, and stores of knowledge about esoteric old Porsches are not exactly thick on the ground !!
Up to this point, Dr Brett Johnson's "The 911 and 912 Porsche: A Restorer's Guide to Authenticity" has been my bible, but it has very small B/W pix that haven't been helpful with wheels to date.
Thanks again

All change time for the BumbleBee, it will also require a name change if I end up doing what's in my head!

Greg,
Please invest in the Peter Morgan "the original 911" book. There are some inaccuracies but overall it is a great resource book with specially commissioned colour photographs.
Take care,
Bert

All change for the BumbleBee!
In fact no longer will the name be apt.
New colour scheme
Deletion of the RS Kit - new bumper, decklid and various other things going on.
Actually started getting the parts and planning stuff Oct/Nov last year and it's been in garage.
As of lunchtime today....
