I don't know myself.
I had only been hillclimbing for about 2 years when i think this was taken, on 35mm film, no digital then.

i must have liked the car as I have pics of it at Prescott and more at Shelsley.

There were some very strong 911's running back then.

Turned up on Autofarm’s Facebook page last year, obviously had quite a lot of work done on it by the latest pictures they shared.

Ralph -I think the article you're thinking of was the one in the Sep '97 edition of Classic Cars ...

It was a 1972 E series 911S. Robert bought it as a well-used white race car, and had his first outing in it at Wiscombe Park at an AMOC meeting. The commentator was very sniffy about these strange rear-engined foreign devices, and told everyone not to worry about them, since their handling was awful in the wet.
By the end of the day Robert had won his class, and I took FTD!
Over the following winter Autofarm did a full restoration, and fitted a 2.8 RSR spec engine and close ratio gearbox, along with some suspension mods. It was a beautiful car, and very successful in Robert’s hands.
I think it was sold to someone in Scotland.

Bryan arrived at Wiscombe that day in the passenger seat of Robert’s car!

Yes, very much so! He has a very quick Cayman GT4 and is still one of the front runners in the large capacity road-going class. Come along to one of the British or Midland championship rounds at Shelsley Walsh, and he’ll probably be there!

That's amazing Andy - I'll dig that copy out. Thanks.

I had purchased my 911 earlier in that year and his modified car was my dream spec.

When I’m in the office a few of us vinyl collectors will bring in a selection to share during the day. One of our developers brought this double album in today. Never heard of the band before but was intrigued by the cover art
